This year’s conference in Winston-Salem NC will include: 

- STUDENT QUEST: special workshops and activities for student members.

-YOUNG SCHOLARS: Cash prizes for research and design; and presentations from the winners. See both the “S. Randolph Edmonds” and “Judy Dearing” Call for Entries.

-MARVIN SIMS TEACHERS’ INSTITUE: Opportunities for engagement focused on Black Theatre in the classroom.

-WORKSHOPS, PANELS, PRESENTATIONS, AND MORE:  Selected BTN members and colleagues will offer workshops on directing, performing, scholarly matters, creative financing, leading academic departments and theatre companies, media and technology, publishing, teaching, and more.

THE HOTEL- The Brookstown Inn in Winston-Salem is the conference hotel. The special room rate is $105.99 per night for both a single and a double room.  

TRAVEL- The nearest airport is in Greensboro, NC. 

PARTNERS- We plan our conference immediately prior to the National Black Theatre Festival and hope to attract artists and educators globally and regionally to participate. The host hotel has extended the BTN hotel conference rate through the festival, should you choose to stay to attend NBTFl.
