Yale School of Drama seeks full-time Singing Teacher

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (ADJUNCT), Yale School of Drama

Yale School of Drama seeks a full-time Singing teacher for the MFA Acting program, starting in September 2012.  Responsibilities include teaching classes and tutorials, mentoring students, and serving as a vocal coach for productions at the School of Drama and Yale Repertory Theatre.  Singing training at YSD is focused on acting through song; teacher works with student singers at all levels of skill and experience.  The ideal candidate has a thorough grounding in healthy and expressive vocal technique, substantial experience teaching singing for actors in a professional conservatory environment, and an active professional practice.  Basic piano-playing skills and knowledge of the American musical theatre canon are a plus.  Ability to collaborate closely with other Voice/Speech and Alexander Technique faculty is essential.  Please send a detailed CV or professional resume, a cover letter, including a statement about the mission and best practices of singing training, plus three letters of recommendation to: Walton Wilson, Search Committee Chair, Yale School of Drama, POB 208244, New Haven, CT 06520-8244.  Electronic copies may be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
