Lecturer with Potential of Security of Employment – Design

 

Description: Department of Theatre and Dance within the Division of Arts and Humanities at UC SAN DIEGO (http://theatre.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. The department seeks an experienced professional as Head of the Undergraduate Program in Design and Production. Candidates may have experience in any area of theatre design, with multiple areas of interest preferred. The position requires a MFA and a minimum of five years of teaching experience with a demonstrated strength in mentorship.

 

The Head of Undergraduate design also supervises graduate teaching assistants and teaches in the graduate program, providing a significant bridge between graduate and undergraduate curriculum. As Head of Undergraduate Design, the position requires supervision of three undergraduate productions and practicum for all productions. In order to advance in the LSOE series, the candidate must demonstrate truly exceptional teaching, professional achievement and activity, university service and educational leadership beyond the campus. The preferred candidate will demonstrate strong leadership or experience in diversity, equity and inclusion in an academic setting. Start date July 01, 2012.

 

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
