Professorial Lecturer in Theatre/Musical Theatre (full-time)

The Department of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a full-time, one-year term faculty position as Program Director in Theatre/Musical Theatre at the rank of Professorial Lecturer, beginning fall 2012. Applicants should hold an advanced degree in theatre or musical theatre. Responsibilities include student advising, participation in departmental service activities, and teaching undergraduate courses in a variety of areas including theatre history, basic acting, directing, and General Education courses for non-majors. Program Director duties include recruitment activities, season planning, course scheduling, and program leadership. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in teaching and have experience as an arts or academic administrator. The Theatre/Musical Theatre program consists of 80-100 majors and presents seven annual productions as well as a senior capstone.To apply, submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation.
