The SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF DRAMA, under the leadership of Tim Bond, Producing Artistic Director, and Ralph Zito, Chair, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Musical Theater Dance/Jazz to teach classes in beginning, intermediate and advanced jazz dance and other classes in dance or performance for musical theater program. The ideal applicant should have a working knowledge of a wide variety of current Jazz styles and techniques, and a familiarity with major developmental Jazz artists (e.g., Matt Mattox, Jack Cole, Luigi). Secondary strength in other areas of dance or movement is desired (movement, period dance, Pilates, yoga, choreography, tap dance, etc.). Professional teaching and performance experience in Jazz Dance and Musical Theater is preferred. Salary and rank commensurate with education and experience. Position begins August 2011.
