University of Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music seeks Sound Designer

Assistant Professor (212UC2993)

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) seeks an experienced sound designer for a full-time tenure-track appointment in the Theatre Design and Production (TD&P) Department beginning August 2013.

Duties of the Sound Design Faculty include teaching courses in sound design at the BFA and MFA levels; executing or supervising sound design and/or reinforcement for all musical theater, drama, and opera productions; mentoring BFA and MFA sound design students, and supervising graduate teaching assistants.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, and must be willing to become part of a highly collaborative BFA, MFA team of directors, designers and technicians.

University of Pittsburgh Seeks SET DESIGN & SCENIC ARTIST LECTURER

SET DESIGN AND SCENIC ARTIST LECTURER:— The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a non tenure-track, three year renewable position, beginning September 2013. The successful candidate will possess extensive professional experience in theatre set design, prop design and scenic artistry. We are especially interested in applicants with experience teaching introductory and upper level design courses.  A commitment to mentoring undergraduate designers through coursework, projects and professional development is also desirable.  An MFA in theatre design and prior teaching experience required.  Lecturers are expected to attend faculty meetings, serve on committees, interact with the off-campus community, and participate fully in the administrative duties of the Theatre Arts Department.
