Assistant/Associate Professor of Theatre (Voice/Speech)

Full-time, nine month, tenure-accruing faculty position. The School of Theatre and Dance at the University of Florida invites applications for a specialist in vocal training for actors at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants should be able to contribute to the recruitment and retention of MFA and BFA acting students in a vibrant professional theatre training program within one of the nation’s top public research universities.

Minimum Qualifications: Terminal degree required. At least 4 years of full-time teaching on the college/university level or commensurate experience. Significant experience as a performer and/or coach. Preferred Qualifications: Specialization, experience and/or certification in one or more pedagogical approaches, such as Lessac, Linklater, Berry or other notable voice training techniques are required. An eclectic approach to training the actor’s voice may also be welcomed with proof of effectiveness. Preferred candidates might also exhibit leadership potential, national or international reputation, and/or demonstrated conduct of inclusion.
