Assistant Lecturer of Film (Screen Acting and Directing)

Department of Theatre and Film seeks a non-tenure-track, full-time, permanent Lecturer of Screen Acting and Directing to teach screen Acting for the Camera and Directing Actors for the Camera to theatre and film students, and also Introduction to Film, and cinema studies courses. 5/5 teaching load with one annual course release for producing video archives of theatre and film events. An additional course releases for candidates with the ability to direct theatrical productions in the department. Salary: $45,000 per year, with benefits. Minorities and women encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications 1) MFA in Film or a related discipline; or, PhD with relevant professional experience. 2) Ability to teach courses in screen acting, directing screen actors, Intro to Film, and cinema studies. 3) Literacy with camera technology. 4) Experience teaching in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications 1) Experience teaching screen acting/directing and cinema studies courses at the university level. 2) Ability to direct theatrical productions. 3) Professional experience in acting, coaching, and/or narrative film.
