The School of Theatre and Dance invites an engaging and collaborative individual who respects a diverse academic environment to join a progressive faculty for a 9-month, Tenure-track position in Costume Design and Technology starting August 19, 2019. The School produces eight productions annually. Opportunities exist for employment at Porthouse Theatre, the School’s professional summer theatre.
Responsibilities. Teach graduates/ undergraduates in design, drawing and rendering techniques. Provide leadership of the Costume Design and Technology area including supervision, academic advising, and mentorship of M.F.A. teaching assistants in costume. Candidate will collaborate effectively with diverse students and faculty.
Qualifications: M.F.A. in Theatre design technology and/or equivalent professional experience designing for theatre and dance. Demonstrated competence in teaching. Skills in both traditional and digital media. Commitment to scholarship and service in an academic environment. Wigs and Makeup are desirable secondary areas.
