ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN ACTING /MOVEMENT

KENT STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF THEATRE AND DANCE SEEKS AN ENERGETIC AND COLLABORATIVE THEATRE ARTIST/EDUCATOR/SCHOLAR FOR A FULL-TIME, 9-MONTH, TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN PERFORMANCE BEGINNING AUGUST 2018. THE SCHOOL OFFERS AN M.F.A. IN ACTING/ ACTING FOR THE RETURNING PROFESSIONAL, A B.F.A. IN MUSICAL THEATRE, A B.A. IN THEATRE STUDIES: PERFORMANCE, AND A PERFORMANCE MINOR. QUALIFICATIONS: APPLICANTS SHOULD HOLD A TERMINAL DEGREE (M.F.A., PH.D.) IN A PERFORMANCE FIELD, HAVE SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE TEACHING ACTING IN HIGHER EDUCATION, AND MAINTAIN AN ACTIVE RESEARCH AGENDA IN PERFORMANCE EVIDENCED BY A RECORD OF PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY. EXPERIENCE TEACHING ALL LEVELS OF ACTING IS REQUIRED, WITH ADDITIONAL ABILITY TO TEACH MOVEMENT, SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO SUZUKI, LABAN, FELDENKRAIS, OR VIEWPOINTS. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE A FOCUS TOWARD INCLUSION, INNOVATION AND COMMUNITY.
