Candidates should have extensive professional experience in performance. Applicants should have expertise in at least two of these areas: Voice and Movement, Stage Combat, Commedia / Acrobatics, Heightened Language / Shakespeare, and Actor Professionalization. The successful candidate will teach Performance Area courses open to undergraduates, take an active role in season productions (as vocal coach, fight choreographer, etc.), assist with regional conference attendance and recruitment, help train graduate student and adjunct instructors in the Performance Area, and may also teach within the graduate MFA Performance Pedagogy Program. Qualifications: A completed MFA; evidence of two years of successful college teaching experience; and five years of professional experience. Positions joins a Dance faculty of six. The School offers B.F.A. degrees in Musical Theatre and Dance Performance, a Dance B.A., and produces eight productions annually. Responsibilities Teach theatre tap, jazz and ballet to dance and musical theatre majors. Choreograph for dance concerts and/or musicals. Teach from among partnering, jazz styles, commercial dance. Candidate will share creative advising and mentorship.

Ohio University Theater Division invites applicants for a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Musical Theater for Fall 2018. The university seeks faculty members who bring a critical perspective to issues of diversity and multiculturalism and is invested in hiring faculty members who can contribute to the climate of diversity in the Theater Division.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will develop and lead a new BFA Musical Theater track in conjunction with the established BFA in Performance track. When the program is fully developed, a teaching load of three courses per semester is expected. The candidate will direct productions; being able to serve as a choreographer or music director is desirable. The successful candidate will shape the new Musical Theater track by guiding the search for three additional faculty members. Additional duties include advising, coaching, committee work, and recruiting.
