Director of Development

Northern Stage’s Director of Development is an essential member of the leadership of an energized, rural, professional theater company with a mission of changing lives, one story at a time. The Director of Development oversees the planning and operations of the Development Department to secure and retain all contributed revenue. They are responsible for attaining 50-55% of the revenue to support the theater’s overall $4M operating budget through a variety of strategies: major gifts, corporate partnerships, annual fund, government and foundation grants, and other initiatives. Director of Marketing and Development-Triad Stage

The Director will create and implement Triad Stage’s marketing and development strategies. Director of Development

PlayMakers is seeking a Director of Development to lead the efforts of PlayMakers Repertory Company’s (PRC) and the Department of Dramatic Art’s (DDA) to secure external funding from individual donors, foundations, and corporations for its programs and works to establish and achieve financial goals. The position coordinates prospecting and fundraising efforts with the Arts and Sciences Foundation team and reports both to the PRC Managing Director and the Associate Dean and Senior Director at the Arts and Sciences Foundation.

Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of professional-level, direct solicitation/fundraising experience. Successful candidates will have the experience, maturity, and judgment needed to provide evidence-based guidance to staff, proven success in securing large contributions from individual donors, a high comfort-level interacting with senior level executives and people of wealth, and a fearless but smart in the ability to ask for gifts and to position others to ask for gifts, among other qualifications. Experience in higher education fundraising and in fundraising for a theater or arts organization strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.

Capital Campaign Manager - Norfolk, VA

Virginia Stage Company seeks a highly motivated, skilled and experienced fundraising professional to join the VSC team. S/He will work in close partnership with the Producing Artistic Director, Managing Director and an engaged and energized Board to complete the second phase of the company’s Capital Campaign (~$2M). The qualified candidate will support high artistic standards, strengthening connections with the Hampton Roads community and successfully engage loyal and growing audiences. This position presents an opportunity for the right candidate to join the Senior Staff of one of Norfolk’s most important cultural assets, a leading non-profit currently celebrating 40 years of theatre-making.

The Capital Campaign Manager will serve as the lead strategist and will be responsible for articulating, planning and overseeing the implementation of the strategic direction for a comprehensive second phase of the company’s Capital Campaign. The CCM has primary responsibility for developing prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies. Front of House Operations Manager

Signature Theatre seeks a Front of House Operations Manager with facilities or operations management experience, who excels at customer service, is an outstanding communicator and team player with excellent attention to detail and follow-through. The staff member in this position’s primary responsibility is ensuring Signature’s audience has a fantastic experience from the moment they enter our front door until they leave. This position is part of Signature’s marketing team and reports to the Director of Marketing.
