Manager of Artistic Training

Milwaukee Repertory Theater is seeking a Manager of Artistic Training (MAT) to be responsible for the strategic development, implementation and oversight of The Rep’s Emerging Professional Residencies (EPRs) in Acting, Directing, Production, Education and Casting and the Professional Training Institute (PTI). This position is an integral role in the Artistic Department, collaborating with members to develop, lead, and mentor participants in both programs in support of educational and training goals.

Major duties and responsibilities include leading and managing PTI, which trains up to 15 of the region’s most talented teenagers through masterclasses taught by Rep artists and culminating in a summer performance and managing the EPR Program, which bridges academic training and professional practice in a nationally respected professional training program.

Qualified candidates have teaching experience in arts industry or experience in similar role that required the oversight and professional development of students, interns or early career individuals.

Salary range is between $36,000 - $38,000 and benefits include health/dental insurance.

Learning Director-Triad Stage

Triad Stage, an LOA to LORT-D Theater producing in both Greensboro and Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a full-time, year-round Learning Director who can continue to develop our community and school programs, including: summer camps, workshops, student matinees, Poetry Out Loud, and Young Playwrights for Change. They will be responsible for maintaining the strategic plan for the Learning Program and ensuring that the programs continue to align with Triad Stage’s core values. Assistant Professor Theatre Education

The Department of Performing Arts invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Theatre Education. The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree in Theatre Education or a related field, teaching experience within a diverse college community, and familiarity with current Massachusetts and national curriculum frameworks, theatre standards, and licensure requirements.  

Candidates should have a background and college-level teaching experience in teacher training and several of the following areas: applied theatre and devised work in community environments; urban and multicultural education; drama/theatre arts curriculum design and implementation grounded in diverse traditions, pre K-12; contemporary theories of teaching/learning; authentic assessment; student teacher supervision; and contemporary national and international practices in process drama and drama-in-education. 

The position includes teaching five courses per year in drama and theatre education including courses in education required for Massachusetts licensure of teachers of theatre.  Courses may include Drama as Education I and II, Contemporary Issues in Education (with an emphasis on equity, inclusion, and social justice), Student Teaching Practicum and Seminar and an additional course that expands the diversity of approaches to theatre education or applied theatre.  

In addition to teaching, all faculty members advise and mentor students and participate in the college’s system of shared governance. This position includes service to the theatre education program by supervising student teaching practica, assisting with the direction and administration of the undergraduate and graduate programs, participating in curriculum development, and helping to recruit new students.

Literary Manager, Two River Theater

The Literary Manager oversees Two River Theater’s literary management and dramaturgy, and supports its new-play development initiatives. As a core member of Two River’s Artistic team, the Literary Manager is a full-time staff member who works closely with the Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director on season planning and artistic programming. This position also works closely with the Marketing and Education departments on audience-engagement and education program initiatives.
