Dramaturg & Literary Manager

Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, Florida (LORT B Mainstage; LORT D Second Stage) is seeking a Dramaturg & Literary Manager to oversee all aspects of the Literary Office.

Responsibilities consist of managing all dramaturgical/literary functions, including: writing/editing playbill content and dramaturgical research for all productions, participating in season selection, creating/curating content for and leading public programming events, shepherding all new play development efforts, networking with literary agents and cultivating playwrights, acquiring and evaluating new scripts, and supervising/mentoring a Dramaturgy Apprentice.

Ideal candidates will be early or mid-career professionals, with a serious commitment to a career in dramaturgy and/or literary management. Master’s degree in Dramaturgy, Theatre History, or a related field is required. Excellent research, writing, analytical, computer, and organizational and interpersonal communication skills are required.

This is a full-time position with an approximate start date of July, 2019. Literary Manager, Two River Theater

The Literary Manager oversees Two River Theater’s literary management and dramaturgy, and supports its new-play development initiatives. As a core member of Two River’s Artistic team, the Literary Manager is a full-time staff member who works closely with the Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director on season planning and artistic programming. This position also works closely with the Marketing and Education departments on audience-engagement and education program initiatives.
