Front of House Mix Engineer

Front of House Mix Engineer – Yale School of Drama /Yale Repertory Theatre (YSD/YRT) seeks a highly motivated and positive individual to join our staff as a long-term seasonal Front of House Mix Engineer. Responsibilities include serving as front of house sound operator for productions and events; participating at load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals and strike of productions; preparing, placing and testing wireless microphones.

Candidates must have professional and/or college-level experience as a mix engineer/sound board engineer. Knowledge of live mixing and current audio equipment required. Preferred experience: Familiarity with electronic and audio test equipment, and safe rigging practices; ability to read music. Minimum salary is $23.03/hr, plus Yale University benefits package. Opportunity to audit MFA level courses while expanding professional resume credits. Nine-month renewable position (August through May), 37.5 hours/week. Preferred start date December 9, 2019. Lecturer of Sound Design

Ohio University Theater Division invites applicants for a Lecturer of Sound Design beginning Fall 2019. The Department of Theatre & Dance, Western Kentucky University, seeks applications for a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor of Lighting and Sound Design, starting August 2018. NAST and NASD accredited, we offer a BA in Theatre, a BA in Dance and a BFA in Performing Arts with concentrations in Theatre Design and Technology, Musical Theatre, and Acting. Primary Responsibilities:

• Teaching Stage Electrics, Lighting Design, Sound Design, Production Labs, and other courses in the theatre design and technology curriculum, as needed.

• ·Designing lights and/or sound for department productions, and mentoring student designers and technicians.

• Supervising student workers in the areas of lighting and sound.

• Supervising the purchase and maintenance of department lighting and sound equipment.

• Supervising the scheduling of department performance venues, assisting in the development and monitoring of department production budgets, and coordinating student involvement in production activities.
