Theatre Design and Technology Full-Time Lecturer

McDaniel College Theatre Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time Lecturer of Theatre Design and Technology to begin in Fall 2019. The ideal candidate will be a proven teaching artist able to expand the department’s artistic and teaching profile.

Responsibilities: serve as Scenic and/or Lighting Designer for 4 theater productions for the academic year; supervise and advise student designers in all areas of design; coordinate student crews to serve as technicians; work with the Technical Director to maintain production shops and equipment, as well as set construction; teach a 2-2 load in Theatre Appreciation, Stagecraft, and design courses, and serve on committees as requested (2-2 load includes 2-credit student-crew lab sections off load). The lecturer will work closely with undergraduate students in a hands on production environment. Other program duties may be assigned. We are especially interested in candidates who are dedicated to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment, and who will thrive in a small, ambitious collegiate setting. A terminal degree in theatre is required (MFA preferred), and Professional design experience is expected. McDaniel College offers a generous benefits package.

Assistant Professor Theatre Scenic Design

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Baldwin Wallace University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in Scenic Design, beginning August 2019. The successful candidate will teach Scenic Arts courses in the Theater & Dance department, design productions, teach additional courses in relevant areas of expertise (i.e., Scene Painting, Props Design and Construction, Collaborative Studies, Theatre Technology, Vectorworks, etc.), and advise students. Service through committee work to the department and the university is expected.

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Baldwin Wallace University offers a BFA in Acting and a BA in Theatre (with four tracks: Acting/Directing, Stage Management, Dance, and Tech/Design). The department works closely with the BW Music Theatre and Opera programs, and we have an active partnership with Great Lakes Theater.
