Support Black Theatre Network
Black Theatre Network is able to fulfill its mission of collecting, processing and distributing information that supports the professional and personal development of Black Theatre artists, scholars, and educators at all stages of their careers with the support of charitable contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Thank you for your interest in supporting Black Theatre Network. Within our organization’s programming, there are many opportunities for contributing to the future health of Black Theatre. Please explore your options below:

Black Theatre Network’s Annual Fund:
Contributions to Black Theatre Network’s Annual Fund support the general operating expenses of the organization, and are an integral component of BTN’s capacity to fully engage in programming that supports the exchange of ideas between professionals, educators and students of Black Theatre, and thereby supports the growth and future of Black Theatre.
Judy Dearing Design Competition
The design competition and awards are presented in memory of distinguished costume designer Judy Dearing. The purpose of this competition is to encourage Black Theatre students of design and to give them an opportunity to have their work exhibited at the National Conference of the Black Theatre Network. Contributions to this fund support cash prizes, conference attendance, and hotel expenses for the student awardee of the Dearing Design competition.

Conference Scholarships
To better support students and early-career artists who will benefit from the network of artists BTN draws together each summer, conference scholarships offset the registration costs of BTN’s annual conference.
S. Randolph Edmonds Young Scholars Competition
In honor of a pioneering black theater scholar and in the interest of encouraging research and scholarship in Black Theatre, BTN has sponsored The S. Randolph Edmonds Young Scholars Competition since 1988, which seeks to encourage young researchers to pursue scholarship in Black Theatre. Contributions to this fund support cash prizes, conference attendance, and hotel expenses for the student awardee of the Edmonds competition.
